About this notice

This notice explains how Legado Technologies Ltd (“Legado”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information for marketing. It covers our newsletter, events and webinars, downloadable content and LinkedIn advertising. For how we handle data on the Legado Platform and the rest of joinlegado.com, see our main privacy policy.

How we collect your information

We collect marketing information when you give it to us or when our tools record how you interact with our content. This happens when you:

  • sign up to our newsletter or email updates
  • register for one of our events or webinars
  • fill in a form to download a guide, report or other content
  • submit a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form on one of our adverts
  • visit our website, where Google Analytics records how you use it if you have accepted analytics cookies

We only send marketing emails to people who have opted in. Downloading content or registering for an event does not sign you up to our newsletter unless you tick the box to say you want it.

What we collect and why

Our legal basis for all marketing processing is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see Your choices and rights below).

Newsletter data
What it includes: name, email address, company and job title.
What we use it for: sending the newsletter and updates you asked for.

Event and webinar data
What it includes: name, email address, company, job title, any questions you submit and whether you attended.
What we use it for: running the event and sending joining details, follow-up content and the recording.

Content download data
What it includes: name, email address, company and job title.
What we use it for: sending you the content you requested.

LinkedIn lead data
What it includes: the details on the LinkedIn form, usually name, email address, company and job title.
What we use it for: the purpose stated on that form.

Email engagement data
What it includes: whether you open our emails and which links you click.
What we use it for: understanding which content is useful and improving our emails.

Website usage data
What it includes: IP address, pages visited, device and browser, and how you arrived at our site.
What we use it for: understanding how people find and use our website, and measuring how our marketing performs.

Events and webinars

We run our webinars on Microsoft Teams. Teams processes your name, email address and anything you post in the chat or Q&A, and Microsoft’s own privacy statement covers how Microsoft uses that data.

We record our webinars and will tell you at the start of each one that recording is on. A recording can capture your name, the questions you ask, and your voice or video if you switch them on. If you would rather not appear, keep your camera and microphone off and ask questions through the Q&A. We send the recording to people who registered.

Some events are run with co-hosts or partners. When they are, we name them on the registration page and ask for your consent before sharing your details with them. Once they have your details, their own privacy policy applies.

Tools we use and who has access

We use the following providers to store and process marketing data on our behalf:

  • Pipedrive: our CRM, where we keep contact details and a record of how we have been in touch
  • ActiveCampaign: sending our marketing emails and recording opens and clicks
  • LinkedIn Campaign Manager: running our adverts and Lead Gen Forms, and measuring their results
  • Google Analytics: measuring how people find and use our website
  • Microsoft Teams: hosting our webinars

Inside Legado, only the people who need marketing data for their work can access it. We may also share it with our insurers or professional advisers where needed, or where the law requires it. We will never sell your information to third parties.

How long we keep it

We keep marketing information for up to seven years from the date you gave it to us, then delete it from our systems. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing hello@joinlegado.com. You can also turn off analytics cookies in the cookie settings on our website.

You have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, and ask us to stop or limit how we use it.
