Welcome Dillon!

A few weeks ago, Dillon Hood joined us as a tester here at Legado.  We asked him to tell you a little bit about himself:

What excites you about working for Legado?

Working with Legado gives me the opportunity to test my own experience which I have picked up over the last 3 and a half years working in Software Testing. It also gives me the opportunity to implement my own processes and develop the Testing department.

As the company grows so will the Testing team.  This gives me a chance to mentor new staff and train them in the ways I would like them to work.

What will be the biggest challenges?

The biggest challenge for me will be not having that Lead Tester to rely on when things get tough. Being the sole Tester in the company means that you must take a lot more responsibility.

What will you be working on?

Everything! To start with the first job was to build the regression pack so that we were confident when releasing the product into Production. The next biggest thing will be Automation to cover all the regression tests created. On top of all of that making sure that the feature work and bug retesting is completed before the release is due.

What do you do to relax?

I try to stay as active as possible. My current hobbies are both playing football and going to the Hearts games as well as trying to fit in as many gym session as I have time for. I recently just got a puppy so giving him as much attention as possible is always a good way to relax.

What is something that you are particularly good at (that people may not know)?

Planning. I hate not having a plan. I try to make sure everything is lined up and it’s all done correctly. I also hate having things half-finished, so I always finish what I start.  Always.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself

I bought a house that required a complete renovation from the ground up, so that has taken all of my free time for the past couple years.  It needed everything, from gas fitted to plastering every wall and ceiling.  The upside: I now know how to completely renovate a house!

Welcome to the team, Dillon!
